Garry Holt owns, manages and drives the most dominant Production Car Racing team seen in Australia over the last decade. The team has recorded four Championship victories and four Series runner-up results since 2006, coupled with two Bathurst 12 Hour race wins.
Garry’s also started the V8 Supercar Bathurst 1000 on three occasions. With his success in Sailing, Skiing and Game Fishing, Garry enables the Series’ he races in to generate a broad range of media angles in a variety of publications.
He enjoys telling a good story, is always good for a quote and he regularly makes available his assets – such as Eastern Creek Karting Raceway and the racecar available for media.
He enters the Toyota 86 Racing Series with a car built and prepared by Paul Morris Motorsports. He only knows how to go racing one way – and that is to ensure the car is prepared to an exacting standard, which will deliver the best outcomes for he as a driver – and the team’s sponsors. Garry’s team’s results over the last decade reflect this.
In the sport of karting, Garry has a long and well respected history. Eastern Creek Karting Raceway is Sydney’s premier corporate sports entertainment venue and on the grassroots racing side, one of Australia’s premier racetracks.
Garry has dedicated himself to giving back to motorsport in Sydney through assisting many young drivers on their motorsport career pathways.
“It would be great to win another title, but there is plenty of competition in the Toyota 86 Racing Series. There are especially some highly rated youngsters – if I can be competitive against them and show a couple of them a few tricks now and then I’d be very happy.”
“Travelling the country, spending time with good people and being part of a professional racing series with strong media support where you can give sponsors a great return on investment are the enjoyable parts of motorsport for me.”
